Laundry Room At the Laundrette Photoshoot

This was a quick and lovely little photoshoot practically done on the spur of the moment. I thought it would be great to photograph the Laundry Room brand in a laundrette somewhere and remembered the little washeteria on Clifton Street in Stourbridge. How nice it would be to have a little party in a Laundrette (to wake up the tired and sleepy washing machine watchers) so I ran out and tried to find some helium filled balloons, some ribbons and lollipops and off we went. Debbie the lovely owner of the laundrette came to meet us with enthusiasm sharing a little history on her place of business and it's original features, she was very excited to see people using the space for more than just washing and drying and waiting. I really hope Debbie enjoys these images when she sees them as we all really did enjoy the little party we had in there..

Ladies Vintage Photo Shoot

This mini photo shoot was inspired by 1960s fashion and was done mainly to achieve an image suitable for the ladies vintage section on the homepage of our website. Kayla enjoyed getting beehived up and donning a vintage 1960s green mini dress. I love to include vintage accessories like the super 8mm camera and vintage typewriter to add a bit of depth to a story. I surrounded Kayla with a number of small vintage porcelain cats as we couldn't have her feeling lonely...

Sugarhill Boutique Tie Dye This mini shoot was to promote our Sugarhill Boutique summer vest tops. We chose the multi story car park as a setting. Kayla teams the vest with white cropped trousers and pumps, a lovely summer look. We lost the bow to the violin so we tried to get a tune out of a giant pink flower instead

Monkee Genes Photo Shoot

With the new and exciting recent addition of Monkee Genes to our store I gathered together a couple of friends with good legs to model the fantastic soft organic cotton jeans. The inspiration behind this little shoot was to get more urban I guess. I have always liked the cold harsh edges and surfaces of the subway in Stourbridge, kind of reminds me of growing up in the 80s. I thought the distressed blue tiling would sit well and add contrast to the denim. Its the first time I've used lomo effects to this degree in photoshop as I never really manipulate my imagery but I was quite pleasantly surprised by how well it works for advertising jeans. I'm really looking forward to the new cuts coming in so that I can zoom in on Craig s bottom once again!

This is a series of photographs shot for the March issue of Harper's Bazaar.
I had very limited time to organise this one, on the day the couple were snowed in and were five hours behind schedule, with a bit of rushing it turned out OK in the end though.
I wanted to photograph a real life couple so friends Shona and Simon jumped at the chance. Simon is wearing one of our limited edition artist t shirts (available in store only) and Shona is wearing a T Style spring floral dress to match the season. The basic idea was to get them tangled together, I love lighting with lamps so what better way to do it than with fairy lights. I try to tell a story in my photos and quite often on shoots the story rolls out in front of you as you go. Throw in an invisible  third person using a 1980s telephone and a painting of a sinister black cat and there you have a narrative.
The only bad thing that came from this was a computer melt down the next day and a loss of amazing pictures with the fairy lights of the the two of them in the snow. Sorry about your frozen feet guys!

The idea behind this shoot was to use influences from fairytale/fantasy. We shot it at the Talbot Hotel in Stourbridge. I wanted it to be like an after story to Cinderella, with the Prince after the ball. Lewis is wearing a Prince like white ruffled tux shirt and Sophie is wearing a Vintage Laura Ashley prom style dress with a velvet body.
The chosen image was shot from above and I used nothing but bedside lamps to light. I've thrown in a mystery shoe and some masks......is this the moment he realises that his perfect Cinderella isn't a size 4 shoe and he's fallen for the wrong girl?
